Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us on Friday, March 27th at 10:30 AM for a discussion with New York State Senator Jeremy Cooney to learn more about how we're working to address rising health insurance costs for small businesses.
Senator Cooney will provide an overview of multiple pieces of legislation he is sponsoring this year that work to lower healthcare costs by expanding access for small groups, including S8457 which restores New York's definition of "small group" for health insurance purposes to 50 or fewer employees and the HEARA Bill (S8614), which would allow people and small groups to buy into the state’s Essential Plan. Cooney will also provide an overview of other relevant projects happening this year in Albany for our Greater Rochester region.

With so much political activity at the local, state, and federal levels, keeping track of the complexities and nuances of each moving part can be difficult. Greater Rochester Chamber's advocacy team works 24/7/365 to keep up-to-date on it all. One of the ways in which we convey our findings to members is through the Policy Matters series.
