The ATHENA Award®:

The ATHENA Award®, introduced to the Greater Rochester community in 1987, recognizes established women leaders who have demonstrated excellence and sustained leadership in their profession, provided meaningful service to the community, and actively supported the advancement of women.

Criteria:

  • Demonstrates excellence, creativity, and initiative in her business, profession, or field of work.
  • Actively assists women in reaching their full leadership potential through mentorship, advocacy, support, or leadership development.
  • Provides valuable service to the community and contributes to improving the quality of life for others. Community service should reflect contributions made outside of the nominee’s regular job responsibilities or day-to-day professional role.
