The next round of scheduled NYS minimum wage increases will be effective on December 31, 2017.  This triggers an increase to the NYS weekly salary threshold used to determine eligibility for exempt status.  Both of these pose numerous challenges to employers.
Employers are not only tasked with ensuring compliance but also with maintaining pay equity with other employees while recognizing budget constraints.  The presenter will share best practices and facilitate discussion regarding the following topics:
- Ensuring compliance with NYS minimum wage and NYS salary thresholds
- Discussing options for employees paid below the new NYS salary thresholds
- Identifying potential pay compression and discussing options to address the compression
- Calculating the cost of related pay changes
- Leveraging or modifying existing pay ranges, structures, and merit/general increase programs
- Highlighting related actions that employers should consider in implementation plans

Participants will have the opportunity to address the regulations and resulting compression in a case study.

Join us as Betty Richardson, president of Rewarding Solutions LLC, reviews the changes and discusses what employers should be doing now to ensure compliance by December.
