ROC the Riverway is a visionary program to transform the Genesee River corridor in the City of Rochester. New York State has already pledged an initial $50 million in funding, with more public and private investment expected to come. Revitalizing the Genesee River corridor can help fuel our local economy with ROC the Riverway serving as a major asset in attracting new jobs and solidifying our identity as a vibrant waterfront community. Cities around the world have discovered the tremendous power of great public spaces, bicycle/pedestrian-focused infrastructure, and water-oriented development in attracting employers and the next generation workforce. At this March 28 Policy Matters event, Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council Co-Chair Bob Duffy and Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren will provide a ROC the Riverway update and take questions on the targeted investment in this transformational project that leverages the value of Rochester’s waterfront.
