The original SECURE Act approved in December 2019 and the SECURE 2.0 law added in December 2022 contain many changes designed to modernize retirement plans, encourage adoption of plans and increased retirement savings, and ease administrative requirements. These changes impact most retirement plans. Some provisions are effective now and others will be applicable in the next few years.
