TRENDS: A Conversation with SUNY Chancellor, Jim Malatras
Tuesday, October 19, 2021 (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EDT)
Higher education is no longer confined to two or four years of campus and lecture halls. It’s whenever and wherever a student needs it, to stay sharp and learn new skills as the world changes. The State University of New York (SUNY) is constantly introducing new ways for our students to learn, train, and achieve their goals — on their terms.
Through our SUNY for All program, we are going into communities too often left behind; bringing multiple colleges together under one roof to leverage the individual SUNY campuses’ strength to provide students more applied learning opportunities; and connecting students with industry partners ready to connect them to in-demand, well-paying jobs. We strive to not only provide high-quality education to our students, but set them up for success. With nonstop advancements in technology consistently reshaping how businesses are run, employers need professionals who are consistently building new skills. Connecting the SUNY student pipeline with partners in industry, we can continue to align the advanced training offered at our colleges with the evolving needs of the workforce—a synergy that benefits students, businesses, and the economy as a whole.
Join us for a conversation with SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras. Dr. Malatras has held several high-ranking positions in New York State government, including director of state operations to Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, where he managed the day-to-day operation of state government and served as the administration’s point person on policy development and implementation.
