Join us for an impactful discussion and action planning to ensure every child in Rochester has access to the resources and opportunities they deserve.
Rochester is in the midst of an educational and social crisis that demands immediate action. The RCSD has failed to provide even basic educational outcomes. Meanwhile, Rochester’s charter schools, which serve the same demographics, significantly outperform the district, and yet that is still not good enough for the children of Rochester.
The educational crisis is compounded by alarming levels of violence in the city. Rochester has one of the highest per capita violent crime rates in New York State, including significant rates of youth involvement in shootings and assaults.
The interplay between education and violence creates a cycle of diminished opportunities and increased vulnerability for Rochester’s youth. The time to act is now.
