Wilmot Cancer Institute: Shared Resources 101 for Community Members

The Wilmot Shared Resources encompass the personnel, expertise, next-generation equipment and technology, and analysis that drive cancer research forward.  Moreover, the Shared Resources are the core facilities that provide cost-effective access to state-of-the-art technologies, expert guidance and training, and scientific consultation for Wilmot Cancer Institute investigators. These facilities are the backbone of cancer research being conducted at Wilmot. We are hosting the "Shared Resources 101" event as an opportunity for community members to learn more about Shared Resources from our staff and Wilmot researchers on Friday 12/6 from 1-5 pm at the Wilmot Cancer Institute.  We will meet you in the Wilmot Lobby at 1 pm. Parking will be validated for the Hospital Parking Garage.

 Attendees will:

• Learn what the Shared Resources are and how they support cancer research (~1-2 pm)
• Participate in a Q&A session with our Biobank Director Brad Mills, PhD, and Wilmot Breast Cancer Surgeon, Anna Weiss, MD, about sample donation and consent (~2-3 pm)
• Tour research labs and the Genomics Shared Resource (~3-4 pm)
• Engage in round table discussions with our Community Outreach and Engagement Liaisons (~4-5 pm)
