Rochester By Water is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to connecting our community with the Erie Canal and Genesee River through authentic on-the-water experiences. We operate the Sam Patch and Riverie tour boats, offering narrated and specialty cruises, private charters, and hands-on education programs that bring local history, ecology, and culture to life.

Each season, thousands of students, residents, and visitors step aboard to experience the waterways that shaped Rochester. Our mission is to inspire a deeper appreciation for our region’s waterways and to ensure they remain vibrant, accessible, and celebrated for generations to come.
