The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. All local donations (items, food, monetary etc.) stay local to help the less fortunate here in the Rochester area. We have 4 shelters that provide more than 40,000 bed nights every year. We feed over 100 people a day through hot meals and non-perishable food distributions. Our team supports men, women and children in need through counseling, resource sharing, transportation vouchers and more. We’re here to help local individuals and families with summer camps and after school programs, emergency housing and disaster services. We work to brighten the holidays, combat addiction and human trafficking, empower youth and find missing persons right here in Rochester. TSA of Rochester provides many volunteer opportunities throughout the year and welcomes all who are looking to help in some way.
